Up to the top, we shaked the tipi, tied up to the tree. (1)
TIPI COVERS were traditionally made with Buffalo hides, until Europeans almost exterminated all buffaloes (and Native People), thanks to Buffalo Bill and his friends. Nowadays, however, canvas (from hemp) is usually used to make them. The above photos of a Tepee that I, we, built in 1991, are thus rather unusual.

15 double windows supplied ample sunlight inside the teepee covered with cedar shakes, above pine barm planks.
On the left, above the window line, we see the entrance to the second floor, where we stored the goats' hay.
As may be seen below, the 16 spruce poles were tied up to one LIVE spruce tree that forked at 2 meters high.
