Although I sometimes like to jolt a discussion,
Djeault is pronounced DJO, not "jolt": in French,
EAULT is pronounced «O», thus without pronouncing
neither the L, nor the T. Most French speaking,
Catholic born, Quebec baby boomers, my age or
older, have three "first names": the first one usually
is JOSEPH. We
usually only use one of those three first names; I,
DjO, use JOSEPH. In Quebec and elsewhere, the short
for Joseph is often JO, pronounced dJO, through
English influence. However, in French, Joseph's
"J" is "soft", meaning that it is pronounced without
that initial English
